Issues with Mac Mini using Disk Utility

Just bought a new External Drive, and formated it to APFS, then ran first aid and it had an error (-69610). When to reformat it to a different format to see if that would fix it, but now can't change format. I than place the new drive on my MacBook Air and ran Disk Utility and had no issues. My Mac Mini M2 is running Sonoma 14.7.1 (23H222), MacBook Air M1 is running Sonoma 14.5 has anyone else had this issue, or is just another issue the Mac Mini has?

Target Is Not Convertable To APFS Hello everyone, I'm in need of urgent assistance. I accidentally erased the hard drive of my 2011 MacBook Pro. Now, when I try to reinstall the operating system, I receive an error message stating "Recovery server could not be contacted." My internet connection is working fine. After the reboot, when the macOS Utilities page appears, I encounter the same "Recovery server could not be contacted" error while attempting to install High Sierra. I've attempted to resolve the issue by changing the date and time using Terminal, both by going back to an old date and using the correct date and time, but neither solution has worked. Upon checking the error log for the OS Installer, I found the message "Target is not convertible to APFS, was called on an APFS disk: This volume is not formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled)." But the volume IS formatted as Mac OS Extended Journaled. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

can't reformat an external drive Just received a 30 TB (yes, TB) external ssd drive that seems to be MS formatted. It fails to erase with Disk Utility giving a disk error of -69854. I've run diskutil in Terminal many ways and always encounter a roadblock. For ex, no mount point, must own drive, and others I've coped with these but no success. The 30 TB drives seems to be pretty new on the market, sold by Toshiba and ydigos.com, a Chinese sales point. Mac support came up with nothing but I didn't't ask for a Sr Tech. BTW, failures are he same on a Mac mini running 13.2.1. Asdvice gratefully received. Running 13.3.1 on a Mac Air.

Try reformatting as FAT-32 if it lets you. If successful, then reformat as APFS.
