How to backup downloaded Podcasts to the iCloud?

Hello, I have some podcasts that I have downloaded and want to keep. Is there anyway to back them up in the cloud, Music or other form? Thank you.

Firstly, I would ask what platform these podcasts are on. If you own the media personally, you should have no issue putting them in your iCloud Drive or importing them into Apple Music for use on your other devices. If these are podcasts from a service such as Apple Podcasts however, you do not own the podcasts, you are simply allowed to access and listen to them. As a result of this, attempting to "back-up" the files in any place rather than simply downloading them in, for example, the Apple Podcasts app, would be considered piracy.

If you would clarify your meaning, I would be glad to assist you further.

What platform are the podcasts on?

Do you personally own them, or are you simply licensed to listen to them via a podcast service?

Where specifically would you like to back them up? (Assuming you own them.)

I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks so much for the quicky response! It does help. I am using Apple Podcast on my mac and an iPhone. I have saved some items and downloaded others so that I can listen to them again. But, some are so great that I was hoping to keep them. Your answer confirms that, since they are not mine, I have access. I assume that if the provider deletes them, I will lose access. I appreciate this so thanks.
