How do I stop Siri HomeKit popups?

When I work out, I watch videos on my iPad. When I ask Siri to turn the room fan on or off, I get an annoying pop up that covers the closed caption, which I need. This is new with iOS 18.

How do I get Siri or Home Kit to stop doing this? I’ve tried turning off Allow Notifications (which isn’t desirable, but I had to try it) and turning off Announce Notifications for the Home app. Neither works.

I don’t know whether this is a Siri issue, Home issue, or something else.

How to turn off siri suggestions? I'm getting siri suggestions for duolingo about 50 times a day. At certain times of day they are every 5 minutes. I've gone into the duolingo app settings and turned off all app notifications, but I am still getting the "siri suggestion" for it constantly. How do I stop them? Thanks!
