You have three components here.
PowerPoint - presentation software from Microsoft
Adobe - a software company that makes various graphics products (although not directly presentations)
Keynote - presentation software from Apple.
Keynote can directly open and import PowerPoint presentations, so there's no issue there (File -> Open...)
It's the adobe' part that's confusing me.
Potentially, the OP opened a PDF (possibly generated from PowerPoint or other presentation software) and used Acrobat Pro to convert it to PowerPoint. Once done, as you noted, the PowerPoint can be opened (translated) in Apple's Keynote. The rub is that Keynote may exclude PowerPoint-specific functionality unsupported by Apple.
