Apple Books App: Scissors icon appearing within text

What is this blue scissors icon I keep seeing within the text of “Make Something Wonderful?” Nothing seems to happen when I tap on it.

Highlighting in apple books app not working I start the process of choosing the text I want to highlight. But as soon as I click the word ‘highlight’ the option disappears.

Apple Books app Hello, I’ve noticed that Books app is changed, changed for the worse. app control became small and many functions like page turning is gone. I don't understand the craze of making the controls appear and disappear, as if one had to guess where they are and always remember where they are. all to make a beautiful but not very functional product.why? Please study a fine app for the books…please.
