'NSFileProviderInternalErrorDomain Error 12' while accessing iCloud files on Mac

I had to accept new iCloud terms and conditions and there was no more error, and I was able to download my files from iCloud.

I was told by a apple support agent, just restart your computer first, and it fixed. maybe not worked for everyone sharing the same problem. but anyway, just provide my case.

I just restarted macbook and this error fixed. Thank you tianze_liu comment, it worked with my case.

Open the Apple menu in the upper left of your screen, select restart, and see if the issue is cleared.

Uninstalling the apps fixed this for me.

Hi !... I just did it (07-07-25) on my iPhone, I did restart and it worked. I now able to open the cloud files on my phone for Numbers. Thank you for the tip!!

Have had no troubles with my iCloud drive up until today. Now I keep getting the same error message and can't open ANYTHING from m iCloud drive. Needles to say, this is stressing me out as there really things I can't access that I need to.

I have the same problem: on my MacBook, the iCloud Drive folder does not show the Keynote, Numbers and Pages folders, and when searching for documents in the Finder it finds them, but I get the error The operation couldn't be completed.(NSFileProviderInternalErrorDo- main error 12.)

Who can help us at Apple support?

Same issue on iOS. Can't load iCloud Drive and the files in the cloud can't be downloaded.

I haven't had problems opening or accessing files, but for the past two weeks (or so), I get this error message whenever I try to save a document in MS Word.
