Dell 27 4K USB-C Monitor - S2722QC - 68.5cm (27")
OK. So 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution at 60 Hz, with a USB-C input and two HDMI inputs.
Dell claims that the monitor supports "1.07 billion colours" (i.e., 10-bit-per-channel color). If you connected using HDMI and the HDMI port at either end of the cable was a v2.0 one, you might be forced to choose between 60 Hz (with 8-bit-per-channel color) and 30 Hz (with 10-bit-per-channel color).
I'd expect either of the following to work:
- A USB-C to USB-C connection from one of the rear-panel USB-C / Thunderbolt ports on your Mac mini, to the USB-C port upstream port on the monitor (port #4 in the illustration). (The front-panel ports on the Mini carry USB only, and will not provide a video signal.).
- A HDMI to HDMI connection from the Mac mini to the display. This would not connect downstream USB ports.
If you're not getting a signal, check that the monitor is looking for the signal on the input port to which you hooked up a cable. You might need to use the menu controls on the monitor to do that.
