Apple Trade In Scams

What do I do now? I traded in my flawless well cared for iPad and it was returned with damage that was done somewhere between my house and Apple.

I feel that this is definitely a scam by Apple to get you to upgrade then use this excuse to back out of the trade in value.

I was going to purchase a new iPhone online but this has made me change my mind about doing this.

I have been an Apple consumer for over 10 years (iPhone, iPad and Mac desktop) and they just lost me as a customer.

Be aware that Apple uses third-party partners to process devices returned for trade-in via mail/courier. As such, Apple are not directly involved in any part of the return and assessment process.

Issues such as yours are rare - but have been known to occur. What happens between leaving you and reaching Apple's trade-in partner is obviously beyond the control of both parties.

Many owners contemplating trade-in choose to complete their trade-in at an Apple Store. Using this process ensures that the device is checked and verified by an Apple Technician, the trade-in value finalised, and the process completed while in-store.
