As per the title, I have no toggle to turn text message forwarding on/off. It is just a statement that it is ‘On’ which is greyed out and not selectable.
Does anyone know how to correct this to be a toggle?

Hi Paul! Do u hv a fix for it now? I’m having the same issue and the iPhone is not forwarding any messages with the grey “On”. I’ve tried relogin to iCloud. I just don’t want to reset the whole thing. Thx!

Text message forwarding needs to be enabled on your iphone in order to receive SMS/MMS on your ipad.
It turns out that the need for text message forwarding has been eliminated. All messages, both iMessage and SMS, our synchronized between all devices, logged into the same iCloud account. That being said, I can’t explain why your messages are not appearing on your other device. This is the info I found:

It IS enabled. That’s the issue. There is no way to disable it like there should be. My partner’s phone has a toggle switch and mine just says ‘on’.
Look at the photo I posted. It can’t be turned off. The toggle is missing and instead replaced by the word ‘on’. That is my issue.

Then go to your iphone an turn off text message forwarding.
