Apple Intelligence icon doesn't show on my MacBook Air M1

I was on the waitlist for Apple Intelligence and now have the Apple Intelligence and Siri toggled on in system settings. I have a MacBook Air M1 with 20.5GB of storage open and it's fully updated. I don't know why the Apple Intelligence Icon doesn't show on the top of my screen. The Apple Intelligence icon in settings says Beta. I've restarted several times. Not very technically savvy. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks very much.
