400 Spam Messages a Day

Junk about Kamala, Trump, Tesla, Bitcoins, etc. I have blocked the senders, which correctly puts the spam into the Spam folder and keeps it out of my Inbox. However, they still appear in the Unread folder but with a red warning sign.

How do you KEEP BLOCKED MESSAGES OUT OF THE UNREAD FOLDER? KEEP THEM AWAY FROM MY COMPUTER?

Lots of housecleaning in Apple Mail: Empty the Spam and Trash folders, which removes the spam from the Unread folder. Since I usually work from the Unread folder, repeat the procedure several times.

Since I cannot scan all the spam, I may be deleting good messages that have been classified as spam.

I was looking for a setting in Google Mail that would keep spam away. No luck.

This all started early this year. In a moment of foolishness, I unsubscribed to several spam messages as recommended by Google. That brought more spam. It is now growing exponentially.

Here is an example of a rule I use in Mail to help. It is manual but works. If a email comes in and has Bitcoin as a example, put that as a Description, also use in place ox Example in From and Subject. If the email comes in and it is in your Trash, highlight it, but don't open it and right click on it and use the "Apply Rules" at the bottom.

Also use a few other things. In WiFi use the Rotating option, not Fixed or Off.

If you don't get a lot of email that don't have attachments, in Settings for Mail-->Privacy. Use the bottom two options Also use Private Relay in iCloud if you have a 50GB account.
