Unable to turn on 'Find My' on my MacBook Air

Cannot effectively turn on find my Mac. I have gone to location services and edit and turned on all the location services required. However, when I go to devices in System Settings >> Apple Account, it does not update. I have tried turning location settings on and off to no avail. Interestingly also, I have changed the name of the Mac, but it has not ported through to this area. Any ideas.

This is from Apple Support:

Specifically notice Number 4

Turn on Location Services to allow Find My to determine your location.

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Privacy & Security  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Click Location Services.
  3. Turn on Location Services, then turn on Find My in the list of apps.
  4. Note: If you don’t see Find My, go to System Services in the list of apps, click Details, then turn on Find My Mac.
