Logging into  community

We are other end users and thus unable comment on decisions the Mods make, per the Terms of Use to which we all agreed for follow. Apple have not shared a reason with us.

I've raised multiple feedback suggestions for the forums, including staying logged in for more than a couple of hours, threading, RSS feeds, and saved settings but Apple clearly hasn't seen the need to do anything about them. Feel free to add your tuppence.

Hello~ I myself very rarely get logged out of this forum and logging in is a minute process if I per chance do get logged out. Your other grievances are off topic and perhaps best if you start your own thread. I have never had an issue with my preferences and settings being changed or saved unless I do it myself.

If you make the change for your preferred sort order from within your user preferences, as opposed to per thread, that setting should stick. As shown below.

I've had to log in three times today. I haven't closed the browser, nor even the tab for the "Browse" page, which I keep pinned. It logs me out about every 6 hours. Logging in isn't a minutes process because the site only recognizes my preferred sort order when I'm logged in (whereas most other forums I use seem happy to use a cookie without a login token for things such as sort order) so if I click on a few responses in mail, and the site has logged me out then I have to log in and then re-sort all the posts so that they are in my preferred order. If you are not getting logged out every 6 hours then of course you have no problems with preferences.

I know, but they only stick when I'm logged in and most of the time I'm logged out because the site doesn't let me stay logged in. If you're not logged in then the site defaults to sorting by rank, which is the most useless of sort orders for me.

Hello again ~ I click on the downward arrow beside of Product Feedback that you see highlighted in your screenshot above in blue and choose from the next drop down menu. Then you should be able to put in your information and feedback. Post back if needed.

Right, but when I follow that path and proceed through the next step in the decision matrix, I seem to encounter an infinite loop in the logical progression.

Ha yes, that would make sense if you weren’t logged in.

Interesting. In your account can you see all the topics you've subscribed to? I can't - all I see are a random selection of topics I've subscribed to, but not all of them. Ditto Participated.

Hello once more~ Those of my posts I can’t see in my Subscriptions …I can search for. I copied and pasted your username in the Search found in upper right and I can see all of yours.
