iPhone 16 Pro Max not connecting to uconnect in car via Bluetooth

Tried to connect my 16 pro max to uconnect on my car. It does not show in Bluetooth. Very disappointing. My 13 pro was connected but like I said won’t connect.

Uconnect had 3 months to update their drivers. Apple made their developer beta software available back in June.

I think your best path forward is to open a support ticket with Uconnect and try to get the issue escalated engineering.

My 2023 Ram was taken to the dealer to have them research this issue. After updating the system and it still would not connect (iPhone 15, 14 and 13 were all tested and worked) they contacted Uconnect and were told by them that those Uconnect devices don’t have the appropriate drivers to support CarPlay on iPhone 16 Pro yet.

Can’t begin to tell you how big of a problem this is for me.

Thanks Jeff, exactly what I did. Found out that my RAM needs a system activation update, not a software version update. Have an appointment with the dealership to get that updated FROM version WR 45.1 TO version QR 40.1 (if anyone is interested) .

Uconnect tech-support walked me through how to access dealer mode and then the correct path to identify where this file is located (Dealer Mode > System > Radio parts > System Activation). On my device accessing dealer mode was accomplished by pressing the two bottom corners of the screen at the same time for over 5 seconds.
