I tried to run the Terminal installer script but I got this at the end:
Copying essential files...
Copying the macOS RecoveryOS...
Making disk bootable...
Failed to extract AssetData/boot/Firmware/Manifests/InstallerBoot/* from update bundle
The bless of the installer disk failed.
Does that mean the downloaded installer is corrupt, and I need to redownload?

PS the boot jump drive Is completely blank. Nothing written to it.

There is a known issue with creating bootable installer using macOS Sequoia.

It failed on an M1 MBP. Stalled out with 8 minutes remaining. On another system it stalled with 28 minutes remaining. I tried Intel but I don’t think the Intel system will boot an M series Mac.
Will have to try on a M3 machine.
Barring that, on the older M2 MM, still in service and just hummmmming along, thank you
I suppose it was part of preorder. It was ordered before the first M4 Pros shipped, but after the first flight of M4 minis shipped.
I’m currently trying a boot install of Sonoma on an M1 MBP. It’s reached 28 minutes remaining. Let’s see if it gets past that. I have my doubts.
Two hours later and still at 28 minutes remaining. I can’t believe basic installation processes are so totally fubared.
