Asked to “unlock the disk Macintosh HD” after Factory Reset of my MacBook Air

I’m trying to factory reset my 2020 MacBook Air and now when it restarts it says I need a password to “unlock the disk Macintosh HD” and that the disk is encrypted. I enter the password for my laptop and it just restarts it again and it’s a forever cycle. Why is this happening
