How can I recover Notes that were not backed up?

my phone made me sync my notes to the cloud because my friend sent me a recording, all my notes disappeared without a trace. Theres some very important stuff to me in there, all my poetry and important stuff for work. I’ve tried so many things to get them back. they werent backed up because i ran out of icloud storage but i really dont understand why syncing to the cloud would delete everything on my phone and im extremely upset

If you have lost the Notes, yet they were never backed up, then they're gone.

Download All of iCloud:

One thought would be to download all of iCloud, and then search through it in Finder on a Mac. You would download it to an external drive, and then open the drive in Finder. Search through it using the search bar on the top-right corner of the Finder window. Once found, you can trash what's iCloud using Finder.
