External microphone doesnt show as an input on my mac

I just got an external microphone as I am getting into the music world and have been working on some projects on Garajeband. I got the Tonor TD520 dynamic mic from amazon as it had good reviews and looked like a good option. It arrived and everything was great until i tried connecting it to my macbook. When connected to a windows device or even my iphone it worked perfectly but as soon as i tried connecting it to my mac it didn’t appear as an input source. the cable i use is a usbc to usb3.0 since its the one that comes with the mic. i have tried everything and it still doesn’t connect. (since my mac only has usbc and thunderbolt openings i have to use a sort of adapter where i can connect usbb3.0 but even then it doesnt work and also using usbc to usbc doesnt work either) my mac serial number is C0***TDF. its the macbook pro 13-inch, 2017, 4 thunderbolt 3 ports. please help i really dont know how to get the mic to be an input
