Since the last update I can no longer connect the Apple TV app (‘Continue Watching’ area) to other streaming apps such as Disney, Binge or SBS.
If I click on a show I’m offered to e.g. ‘Connect Binge to the Apple TV app’ but when I click ‘Connect’ it just gives the daisy wheel of death and nothing happens.
Any thoughts?
If you haven't yet, try rebooting the Apple TV. You can also try going into settings - TV (then scroll down to where it says "Connect to TV" to select streaming apps.
If it still persists then reach out to Apple support.

I have the same issue as niallcj with 2 out of 3 Apple TV boxes. Can only play my continue watching via AppleTV if I first restart box, then after shutting down, it may work OK or I need to restart again. Most times I just go app direct and play from there. I would think there should be a fix for this….and under TV do not find “Connect to TV”
I am unable to replicate and it doesn’t appear to be widespread, so best to reach out to Apple support and see what they can do.
