Transfer notes from iCloud to phone

Hi, how do you transfer notes from iCloud to phone? After agreeing to the iCloud’s new terms all of my notes disappeared from my phone app. I can view them online on iCloud but I want them back on my phone. I contacted Apple Support but they had no idea how to do this. Hoping someone out there knows, since Apple themselves don’t know.
