Apple Intelligence on iPhone 14 why isn’t it there?

I want the iPhone 14 to have the Apple Intelligence, but it’s just not there. Why won’t Apple put it on iPhone 14? I have to go buy a new iPhone Thanks Apple

I mean, yeah I get white iPhone 14 doesn’t get Apple Intelligence, but if the iPhone supports iOS 18, then at least add the glowing thing for Siri

Because Apple Intelligence requires a phone with 8GB of RAM, which no phones except iPhone 15 Pro/15 Pro Max and all iPhone 16 models have. Your phone doesn't have the RAM, thus it simply cannot support Apple Intelligence. If you want an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, Apple will take your phone in trade or you can sell it privately and use the trade or sale money towards an iPhone which has the processing power to run Apple Intelligence.

Your phone does everything today, it did when it was new. Apple never suggested older models would get all new features and in fact they specifically suggest not all new features will work on all devices capable of running iOS 18. Expecting a two year old iPhone to be able to run the newest features, when the phone doesn't have the hardware required is just not going to happen.

You can certainly tell Apple that --> Feedback - iPhone - Apple

Don't hold your breath for it however. The "Glow" is built into the OS for Apple Intelligence and is not standalone at all. I'm not sure what difference it would make? The Glow does nothing. It's what's built into the new Siri, which makes Siri better. The glow is simply ornamental. It's kind of amusing that the most sought after feature of Apple Intelligence is the Siri Glow. People don't even seem to care whether Siri is more capable, which Siri is in Apple Intelligence.

For those users that claim to have seen Apple Intelligence on the iPhone 14 on various Youtube channels, take note that what has been found is the exact reason why it is not available. That device only has 3GB of memory and less GPU cores where you see the results as:

  • Slowing your entire phone down
  • Crashing applications
  • Increased battery drain

You should be thanking Apple for not crippling the iPhone 14 with this update. You would then expect those complaints filling these supports sites along with the same ridiculous accusations along the lines of this: "Apple update slowed my phone down and now has poor battery like. They forced this on our iPhone 14 to make us upgrade to a new phone".

I just want the apple intelligence plus it’s not on the 14

That's right, it's not on the 14. It won't EVER be on the 14. If you just want Apple Intelligence, then you'll just need to buy an iPhone which is capable of running Apple Intelligence. That means you need an iPhone 15 Pro/15 Pro Max or any of the new iPhone 16 models.

Had you purchased an iPhone 15, it doesn't get Apple Intelligence either. You'd have to own a 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max. Being mad about owning a phone released 2 years ago, which doesn't have the hardware required to run Apple Intelligence, doesn't make a lot of sense. Often, the newest features introduced with the newest iPhones aren't available on previous models.

Apple would be happy to let you trade in your iPhone 15 towards the purchase of one of the iPhone 16 models, which can run Apple Intelligence.

i would prefer it does not get the glow, if its not really apple intelligence. its purpose is to remind you it just scanned the screen without asking every time someone in the same room as you says "seriously?"

Sorry, but the glow you see is not some sort of engineering marvel that required Apple Intelligence to accomplish. It simply replaced the old circular Siri symbol that would appear on the bottom of the screen. Not sure what you mean by "it just scanned the screen", but sounds like you went down some rabbit hole. Seriously!

So I have confirmed through another forum member whose iPhone doesn't support Apple Intelligence, they don't get the glow on iOS 18.1.1. So the user you were responding too, should be happy to know they won't get the glow on their iPhone without Apple Intelligence.
