One daily news podcast stopped updating in Apple podcasts on iOS 18.0.1

After the update to iOS 17.7, one daily news podcast stopped updating. I've updated to iOS 18.0.1 but the issue continues. I have unfollowed and re-followed the podcast repeatedly, after which I can download the latest episode for that day, but the next day the newest update does not appear in the program feed and the podcast does not move up in the latest episodes screen which is set to order by date updated. I have also removed and reinstalled the Apple podcast app several times. This fixes all issues but on the following day, they return as before. I also erased my iOS, reinstalled it from iCloud, and deleted all settings with the help of an Apple advisor but this didn't solve anything and it took me a week to restore my iPhone. I started using both Spotify and Pocket Casts and both update this podcast without a problem. Is this an issue with the Apple podcasts app or iOS 17.7-18.0.1? Why only one particular podcast? Very strange indeed. Any helpful suggestions, advice, or support would be most appreciated. Thank you.

An Apple support advisor in Japan figured out how to get this podcast to update manually. "The Times of Israel Daily Briefing" stopped updating in Apple Podcasts in Japan. It updates fine in Spotify and Pocket Casts but stopped updating after the 17.7 -18.1 iOS updates. Here's how to get it to update:

Open Apple Podcasts
Go to Library
Select The Times of Israel Daily Briefing (Tap on it as if you're about to listen to it)
Pull down gently from the top of the podcast (above picture) until you see a gear start to circulate.
Let go and the podcast will update.

Please modify step 4 as below:

4. Pull down gently & slowly from the right side of the podcast (at about where the top of the microphone in the picture is) until you see a gear start to circulate above. (It might take a couple of tries to get the gear mark to start turning.)

Contacted Apple several times to get this podcast to update like the 20+ others I follow on Apple podcasts. Again no updating problems on Spotify or Pocket Casts. Why only The Times of Israel podcast and why only on Apple Podcasts (in Japan)?

It’s not just in Japan. I have the exact same issue, both in Israel and in the Netherlands. Time of Israel Daily Briefing is the only podcast in my library that doesn’t update automatically. Removing and re-subscribing doesn’t help, and neither does resetting.

It only updates if I pull to refresh manually.
