My new iPhone 16 Pro battery is draining quickly

Sorry but it’s never gone back to normal, always stinking hot and battery drain drops like a stone in a pond.

Apple needs to fix this issue, I’m wondering if it’s going to explode, not the 1st iPhone to have gotten hot and exploded.

hi I was having the same trouble Purchased my Iphone 16 pro on Oct.15th .....(AND TODAY I returned it and upgraded to 16 Pro Max and will see how the battery does.) But i received a call from Apple Care support regarding the iphone 16 Pro battery situation and telling me that the battery "should last longer once the new IOS 18 is released which i cannot tell you as i am on a recorded line but its available to see on the internet of the approximate date" I did not wait for that update. ONE CONCERN for Apple care, was actual screen time!!! It was 3 hours 6mim (i was editing pics from a hike i did the day before) yet BACKGROUND use was 11 hours 38 minutes. That was alarming to the agent on Apple Care. They are going to call me wednesday to follow up on the "battery drain" issue but i will let them know i switched devices. The battery on iphone 16 Pro would be at 100% at 7am by 10:30am i was at 75% and that is minimal use as I am a flight attendant and turn phone completely off for a 2 hour flight and use it in between flights and before my morning check in. I wish Good luck to everyone out there with this issue. I am hoping its not the same with the 16 Pro Max.....we shall see. Day 1 begins tomorrow Oct, 27th once its at a full charge....

After an update, certain tasks continue in the background and might affect battery life and thermal performance. These conditions are normal, and your device will go back to normal once the process is complete.

Not used iPhone 16 Pro & iOS 18.1 from 10am this morning, phone is stinking hot and battery drained in 5 hours to 5%!!!

Why is it hot and draining when 0 apps were open?

issues with iPhone 16 since new, Apple already swapped phone after 2 weeks old.

iPhone 16 Pro iOS 18.1 still very hot and battery drains quickly - even with no apps open.

Stopped charging a few minutes ago because it’s too hot! I’m sitting in my office and it’s not hot in my office, this issue occurs frequently.

Apple when are you going to address these issues.

I have the same problem on my iPhone 16 Pro as well. From the day I got it it was really warm both on the back and on the screen With iOS 18.0.1 it seemed to help the battery life and did not get so hot

HOWEVER, As soon as I installed iOS 18.1 with Apple Intelligence, my phone is hot all the time and my battery has drained 40% over the three hours since I’ve been up and I haven’t used the phone for much of anything at all

I’ve noticed that my iPhone 16 Pro, with just 7 charging cycles, is experiencing rapid battery drain. Within just an hour of moderate usage, the battery drops by 10%, even without heavy use. This seems abnormal, especially for a phone that is so new. I really hope this issue will be addressed in an upcoming update, as it affects the overall user experience. Hopefully, Apple will optimize battery performance in future iOS releases.

I have the iphone 16 and the battery drains ridiculously fast and I have disabled a lot of things that I did not need to do with my earlier phone. This should not be. Where is the fix, Apple?
