I bought a UA audio Apollo Twin Thunderbolt audio interface some years ago. My research told me I could use it with my new iMac and all I needed was the Apple adapter which I purchased for $49. So far the iMac does not recognize the device. Anybody in this forum familiar with this device? I could sure use some help. Thanks all.

What adapter did you get?
Make sure you are plugging into the thunderbolt port and not the USB port.
