Feedback on Home Page Swipe Experience in iPadOS 18

I noticed a change in the home page swipe behavior on iPadOS 18 compared to iPadOS 17, particularly when using an iPad.

In iPadOS 17, swiping from the side of the screen with a certain distance and velocity would smoothly transition to the next page of the home screen icons. However, in iPadOS 18, performing the same swipe motion doesn’t seem to effectively trigger the page transition. It feels like I need either more force or a longer swipe to achieve the same outcome, which makes navigation less intuitive and a bit frustrating.

I’m curious:

Is this change intentional as part of the new gesture adjustments in iPadOS 18, or could this be an unintended usability issue?
Has anyone else experienced similar difficulties in navigating between home pages on iPadOS 18?

Even though the phone restarts during an upgrade, I still recommend restarting it manually. It seems to make a difference sometimes.

To the best of my knowledge, no changes were made in this function.

It still works exactly the same way for me.

Have you restarted your iPad since it was updated? That's the first thing I'd do.

Hey Raymond ,

My swiping Home Screens is the same as it always was and I have no issues navigating between Home Screen pages .
