AppleTV 4K Dolby Atmos Fail

I have an AppleTV 4k which does not play Dolby Atmos in Amazon Prime Video or (HBO) Max. It does work with Apple movies, Disney+ and Netflix. I have a short 8K certified cable running to a Denon AVR (970H) 8K port which is set to Enhanced 8K so I could even do 120Hz. The video I am testing is Rings of Power Season 2. According to the AppleTV screen for this video Dolby Vision and Atmos are available but only the video comes through in Dolby. Amazon Prime Video Dolby Atmos DOES work from my Xbox Series X and an Amazon Fire Cube. I have also uninstalled and re-installed the PrimeVideo app. So its clearly something wrong with the PrimeVideo app and AppleTV combination. Please help.

Update: HBO MAX has a new tier for dolby. You need to upgrade to get Dolby.


Amazon app is still a fail.

Same issue and yes I have amazon ad free. Noticed the same thing with the movie "jackpot". Hdr & dolby atmos shows seem to work and provide atmos track. If it's dolby vision and dolby atmos I do not get the atmos track - just pcm 2.1. I logged out of amazon and logged back in and got dolby vision + atmos for one episode of rings of power but after autoplay to next episode it failed again.
