high resolution eternal monitor with sequoia
Do not upgrade to sequoia if you use a 4K external monitor the OS does not support it. Apple just told me to reinstall Sonoma They need to fix this,..ugh

Just a long shot, try disabling Tiling in System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Windows, and try toggling "Displays have separate Spaces".
Which monitor? How is it connected? What happened?
If it is not working for you one may need to investigate the cause, but the blanket assumption that "Sequoia does not support a 4K external monitor" is simply FALSE.
2 different ultrahigh resolution monitors
I am glad it is working for you but Apple tells me there is a problem so I would not advise anyone using ultra 4K monitors to upgrade until they patch sequoia
Please give full information about your system as Luis asked. I have a MacBook Pro connected to an LG HDR monitor, and there is no loss in resolution. Every monitor can behave differently in addition to having different settings, as the computer has different settings. It would be helpful to know about the system to see who it affects.

Are you actually asking about ultra wide monitors?
I will try that when I am in my office next week
weird that it is not working w sequoia but believe it or not, I can not longer change my login password on my computer w sequoia, mac has escalated that to engineering but it may be due to my having a user for my grandson that did not have a password (sequoia now requires passwords for all users) Lots of fun and games w apple
What happens? No image? Wrong resolution? Or some other problem?
the monitor works but only at lower resolution so it is functionally useless as only 2/3 of the screen is active
How are they connected? Directly via Usb-C? HDMI? Using some adapter or dock? If using a dock, is it one that needs third party “DisplayLink” software?
It is actually a medical monitor that is 8K with 2 displayports that are fed from a thunderbolt splitter. I have used this setup for about 2 years without issues with the older OSs
Can you please tell us the make and model of this monitor?
Ezio RX850
FWIW, it is not an 8K Monitor, it's an 8 megapixel monitor.
It looks like the monitor is designed to have different screen segments for multiple components. Perhaps it’s that function of the monitor that isn’t working with Sequoia.
Good luck. Post back with any results. I seem to be able to change my password in Sequoia.
