Those disk speed numbers are very good. Apple does NOT warrant that the specs of each model will exceed the previous model.

It is perfectly reasonable to look for performance that is comparable, and that is what you have in hand.

One of the interesting side effects of using black magic speed test is that its clearly shows you can edit whatever video formats you can think of at full speed (look at all those check marks). That performance IS professional calibre, and comparable to other models like this.

I see no need for compromises here. Your Mac is FAST by any standard.

comparable numbers for a rotating magnetic drive would be about 50 for reads, 40 for writes.

I think you are a lucky fellow indeed.

if you MUST have far faster, you may need a $15,000 tower computer.

I trust you realize that while you can certainly come here to complain, the only two real options you have are to live with the computer you decided to purchase, or to buy a new computer.

You haven't mentioned any way in which this issue is affecting your actual use of the computer.

run any speed tests? Black Magic has a free one that lots of folks use.

I typically cope with things that are not noticeable in the real world by ignoring them. YMMV.
