iOS 18 reminders sound

How can I have Reminders make a sound? It seems like this would be a no-brainer feature.

Double check the following in settings:

Open Settings ➡️ Notifications ➡️ Reminders ➡️ Sounds: Here, ensure that there is a sound assigned.

How to get Reminders to actually remind me? I have an iPhone 13 which automatically has the Reminders App on it. I want to use the app to remind me to do certain tasks with an actual sound or pop up notification. Such as to remind me to make a call in an hour. But I've spent 30 minutes trying to add reminders (set to 1 minute later, so I can immediately see if they worked) and my phone sits there without doing anything while the minute passes. All the settings seem ok for the app, but it still refuses to ACTUALLY REMIND me with a sound or pop up. I also Google'd and Youtube'd to try and handle this and every article and video seemed to go into more advanced features of the Reminders app without addressing this ultra basic request. Either A) I'm somehow missing some obvious setting, or B) this app is totally useless if it doesn't actual remind you to do something. Someone please let me know which it is. PS - Yes, I am aware that I can set alarms to remind me, which I will do if the Reminders app is incapable.

Reminders in silent mode Is there a way to have reminders bypass silent mode and play the reminder tone?
