On my Mac, the open recent tab is empty. I opened three files and saved. CLosed the files then went to open recent to open one of the files and that tab is empty. It says clear menu

Restart in Safe Mode followed by a normal Restart.
see > Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support
Then open a few Pages files and recheck Open Recents.
Recent files tab in Pages is empty on my Mac
