i’m not able to edit text added to pictures in ios 18 - the text edit box pops up then immediately disappeares so i can’t change text colors, font size etc

For many of us the markup text works just fine in iOS18.0 and 18.1. But there have been lots of people for whom it behaves just as you say (i.e. badly.) There were people here who had two new phones-- one worked; the other didn't. I figured it would be fixed in 18.1, but since it works on my phone, I can't tell. I know Apple is aware, but to remind them you can leave feedback here:
