How do I activate the Checkpoint Firewall?

It says to "open Security & Privacy System Preferences and allow system software from application 'Check Point Firewall'", but, when I open the preferences, that selection is not there.

Usually that's just boilerplate text displayed by the app. Once you allow software from a given developer, anything that developer ever distributes in the future will be allowed. So most likely, you've already allowed it.

But if the app won't run and is complaining that you still need to allow something that you cannot, then it's just a buggy app.

You don't need any 3rd party security apps. Your computer was in its most secure configuration the first time you turned it on after unboxing it. Any changes you make, and any software you install, can only reduce your security.

That's what I kind of thought, as the Mac firewall is up and running. Not sure if that protects the VPN line, which is run by Checkpoint however.

The built-in Mac firewall protects nothing. But if you were attempting to run two firewalls (or even just one) that is sufficient to explain any and all problems that you might be experiencing.

I'm not familiar with the "Checkpoint" product at all. Most VPNs are outright scams. Some are spyware. Hopefully you got one of the few legitimate ones.
