I am not receiving push notifications on my iPhone after iOS 18 update

After the iOS 18 update I no longer receive push notifications on my Lock Screen. I have to open the apps to see that I receive a message hours ago and never received the notification. iPhone 13 Pro

Since I updated my iPhone to iOS 18.2 I do not receive PUSH notifications anymore. This issue is ssssooo annoying that I think to switch to another brand and I’m using Apple products the last 15 years.

Big company who wants to sell a product for over 1K and cannot fix such a problem in 3 weeks!

I need my iPhone for work! Already got in trouble with my manager!

Good point made. I’m having the same issue with my iPhone 14 Pro after upgrading to iOS 18.1. I thought I had left the iPhone in “Do Not Disturb” or I “silenced” the iPhone. To add a bit of mud to the issue, the alerts for messaging are not being sent to my Apple Watch 7 which I rely on while out in the field and lugging my photography gear.

iPhone notifications have been broken since the iOS 18.2 update (November 2024), and even after Apple's release of 18.3, there's still no fix. I wasted an hour with Apple Support, only for them to make me go in circles before finally admitting that they’re aware of the issue—but with no ETA on a solution. This is ridiculous!

Here are a few steps to fix the push notifications issue on your iPhone 13 Pro after the iOS 18 update:

1. Check Notification Settings:

• Go to Settings > Notifications.

• Select the affected apps and ensure that Allow Notifications is enabled, and check that Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners are selected.

2. Check Focus Mode:

• Ensure that Focus or Do Not Disturb is not enabled. Go to Settings > Focus and make sure no focus mode is blocking notifications.

3. Turn Off Low Power Mode:

• Go to Settings > Battery and turn off Low Power Mode, as it may prevent push notifications.

4. Check Background App Refresh:

• Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and make sure it’s enabled for the affected apps.

5. Reboot Your iPhone:

• Restart your phone by pressing and holding the power button, then sliding to power off. Turn it back on after a few seconds.

6. Check for App Updates:

• Go to the App Store and update the affected apps in case they need updates for iOS 18 compatibility.

7. Reset All Settings:

• Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This won’t delete your data, but it will reset system settings like Wi-Fi passwords and notifications.

If none of these work, it might be worth waiting for a future iOS 18 patch or contacting Apple Support.

This is also the case for me w my iPhone 16 in the standby mode (whether on or off). I have logged out/in, turned off my phone properly, quadruple checked any and all settings against my previous phone’s settings and don’t know what to do next.

New iPhone 16 - After 18.2, push notifications no longer wake up my Home Screen, vibrate, or chime (if sounds are on). I'm missing all push notifications now unless I feel them on my watch. Turned sound on my watch in the meantime to try and help me feel push alerts. This affects everything, most importantly Message, Ring App, and others. Very disappointing.

Not true because Apple installed apps such as Messages cannot be deleted; only removed from Home Screen. And when you have a ton of apps, especially for business purposes, “all you have to do” is have Apple do their jobs and fix the problem they created.

I noticed after updating to 18.1 that I too wasn't receiving push notifications and tried all the remedies that have been suggested and nothing fixed it. In the end I actually erased my phone and set up as new, didn't use a back up to set it up and although its been long and tedious re-installing all my apps, I have noticed that push notifications have begun working again.

However, there are some apps where the notifications just aren't working, and the ones that are seem to have quite a delay before receiving them.

It's actually not just push notifications I'm noticing this on, when you have to send a code to your phone via text to authenticate yourself for different sites etc, I'm noticing quite a delay in receiving those texts as well.

Very frustrating and I hope it's fixed in 18.2 as well as the touch screen responsiveness. I'm still having issues with that bug.
