RCS stopped working post iOS 18.0.1 update

I had RCS working fine with android users when the iOS 18.0.1 update was applied it has stopped working. RCS can no longer be activated and worse yet I don’t receive message back from android phone were RCS was working. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Apple and AT&T are not helping me !!!!

Just to add info…. Was running iOS 18 on my iPhone 14 and RCS was working fine with my android friends. The update iOS 18.0.1 was applied and it all stopped working…

There seems to have been an Android bug earlier this week that made it so they couldn’t send texts without only having SMS enabled. This seems to be resolved and RCS can be turned back on for them.

Also iOS 18.0.1 seems to have had an RCS bug at the same time. That I fixed for myself by toggling off then on the iMessage, RCS messaging, and MMS messaging buttons in that order.

I kept Send as Text Message on so I could get SMS from android phones (you can toggle this too now to be sure). But with my own work around and now ensuring my android contacts turn their RCS back on, it seems to have resolved the issue for both of us.

Just my experience today. Hope this helps!
