Does AppleCare+ in Canada not cover lost or stolen iPhones?

AppleCare + doesn't cover lost or stolen phones anywhere, you need AppleCare + with loss and theft protection

That is correct. AppleCare+ Theft and Loss is not available in Canada. As to what the point of purchasing AppleCare+ would be, that extends the warranty coverage and also covers accidental damage, plus some other benefits.

Seems Apple Care + also offers AppleCare + theft and loss insurance that can be purchased:

brbo, the information you posted applies to the US only. As I said, AppleCare+ Theft and Loss is not offered in Canada. See the link I included in my post above.
