iPhone Calculator Numbers Not Clearing

I am using an iPhone 14 Pro with iOS v. 18.0.1

Whenever I open the calculator up it has retained the numbers I entered into it when I did my first calculation with this new iOS. Even if I completely clear it, repeatedly (lots of "ACs") when I am finished with a calculation, the next time I open it up those same numbers appear in the calculation field and they need to be cleared before I can begin my new calculation.

Anyone else experiencing this?? Wondering if it is a bug or if I am not doing something right.

OK, One of the denizens in the Lounge was able to replicate the problem and find a solution. lobsterghost1 reports:

I deleted the calculator app from my phone, then reinstalled it and the issue no longer exists. So, we can suggest to people who are having this issue to delete the app, then reinstall it.

As the OP of this thread... and someone who knows how to correctly operate the calculator on an iPhone... please let me assure you that 1. The issue is real and 2. There are many others who have been experiencing the same problem. That said, I'm very happy to know that you and your wife are not experiencing it. As for the other "regular" users of the forum experiences, I cannot seem to find their posts in this thread.

I'm not sure it is a fair assumption that more frequent users of the ASC know how to operate their devices better than those who are infrequent users. Trust me and the others who have expressed that they are experiencing this problem. We know what we are doing and we know the problem is real.

Perhaps it is not just a bug in the iOS 18.1 but is the combination of the iOS 18.1 with certain models of the iPhone? I am using an iPhone 14 Pro.

Hello~ Then contact Apple as we have suggested. I am quite adept at recreating may user issues and can’t recreate this one. That being said…no one is implying that you don’t have an issue…all we are trying to do as volunteers who help others here each day is try and assist you. Now… what is the exact iOS that you’re running? Are you in fact running 18.0.1?
