Need to reinstall Mac OS X starting from Snow Leopard
Hi all,
I have a big issue because I have an iMac 27" late 2009 (released with Mac OS X Snow Leopard).
It had a crash of the boot disk and couldn't boot anymore.
The best way I supposed to follow was to inizialize the SSD drive I mounted on the iMac (about three years ago) and making a bootable flash drive to reinstall the version of Mac OS X that came with the hardware bought in February 2009 (i.e. Snow Leopard).
I am trying to make a bootable flash drive (USB) but I can't find the right way. For newer version you just download the release you need from App Store or via How to download and install macOS - Apple Support, for those not available in the App Store. They came as .app files and is quite easy to make a bootable USB drive using some Terminal strings.
I tried to download Mac OS X Lion, to start with, but inside the .dmg file Apple supply I only found a .pkg file and I can't go any further.
What is the path for older version than Mac OS X Lion (the older on the support page)?
How can I make a bootable flash drive with Mac OS X Lion, at least?
Thank you in advance
