I am using iPhone 13 for the past two years I have never faced this kind of issue but after updating to iOS 18 my iPhone is lagging a lot and overheating on top of it the battery is getting drained faster.
And a strange thing is happening to my camera..... whenever I want to capture images in portrait, my phone gets heated and the camera app is shut down automatically.

My iphone 13 Pro Max no longer overheats, it was able to charge over 80% without getting the error message about overheating, and my apps no longer freezes. Iphone Respring also stopped after I updated it yesterday. Battery also no longer drains as fast. I am still trying to monitor my phone performance and battery. Hopefully the issue will no longer reoccur.

Idle condition also still heat up, i tried flight mode for 30 minute also heat up. Solution is shut my phone down… what happen actually Apple?

I have similar experience but I am using iphone 13 pro max.
yesterday, I spent more than 15minutes outside, trying to book a car but the app does not open, messenger also is stuck on the messenger logo, lost my signal, and my battery drained from 83 to 45 in just 1 hour.
it was not like this before the update. My battery is pretty good though it is around 80-90% health.
i had to restart my fone for the apps to work again and to regain cellular data signal.
also, my fone goes black randomly, with a loading icon in the middle then it will go back to the lock screen

Hard to cool down when my phone is always hot after update (pun intended). Just moments ago 30% gone in less than 2 hours, phone in my pocket, then on table, because it was burning hole in my pocket. Biggest battery usage "Photos". And the app was not even running in the background.
I was forced to update to ios 18, because I bought new Apple Watch, but phone is useless now. Shame to bring such unfinished SW to the market.
Same phone same issue. Until ios18 upgrade my 13mini was overheating only under direct sun now is like hot water bottle if i watch youtube or charging it
Same issue. Battery health drained from 73% to 64% in just 10 days. Phone automatically reboots when battery comes down to 30%. I’m regretting for upgrading ios 18. Apple please do fix this.
That is also what I thought at first. However, my phone overheats whenever I use my AirPods or listen to something without an earpiece. do you have same issue?
