Recent Timers issue resolved in Apple Watch OS 11.0.1

I have noticed a lot of people really disliked the Recent Timers function of Apple Watch Timer app. This surprised me because I really liked it. However it seems Apple to have responded in the form of a revamped Timer app for both iOS and Apple Watch OS in the most recent updates ie. iOS 18 and AW OS 11.

The timer on the watch now only has a list of timers but, you can edit it. I most frequently use a 7min timer for our stove top coffee percolator in the mornings. Now in the Edit Menu at the bottom of that screen you can remove timers and most importantly Pin or Unpin timers to the top of the list.

So I now have a 7min timer pinned at the top and 6 other timers 5, 10, 15, 20, 1 hr and 1hr 30min. perfect for my purposes.

I actually find it much more frustrating because now I just end up with huge numbers of timers I have to delete. Perhaps I’m not using it correctly.

The other thing is the number of times that I’ve accidentally paused it or deleted timers that I wanted (it just happened; I used Siri to start a 45 minute timer, 10 minutes later I went to look at the amount of time left and found out that it had paused at 44 minutes and 57 seconds‽)

Well as mentioned I use a limited number of timers but I use them daily. So, a couple of saved ones at the top of the list is a real time saver for me.

I don't usually ask Siri to set a "timer" so I can't comment on that but I do ask Siri to set an alarm for eg. 22min or a reminder but I've never had a problem with it stopping mid way. The problem with a "count down" timer is it stays on the screen so it's easy to accidentally pause or cancel.
