Strava app disappeared from apple watch series 3

I certainly won't buy another apple watch, mine functions fine just that Apple have decided that if you want to continue to use an app, you have to buy an upgraded watch. No thanks!!! I'm off to buy a garmin. Absolutely shocking behaviour from Apple!!!

Of course Apple are complicit, the app store is there's, they should make developers support watches that are not that old, it seems obvious that they want to watch apple watch 3 users to upgrade a perfectly fine watch

That has nothing to do with Apple. It's completely the developer's choice what versions of any operating system, on any device, they will support. If said developer elects, for whatever reason, to only support a later version of watchOS, that's not Apple's decision.

Hope you'll be happier with your Garmin. Note that you may well encounter exactly the same issue down the road with that device.

I am also disappointed that my series 3 watch is no longer able to use the Strava app. I own a Garmin Fenix watch and have learned that my Apple watch is a smart watch with fitness features while my Garmin watch is a fitness watch with smart features. Both are great devices and both have their strengths and weaknesses.

Nonsense. Apple cannot force a developer to do much of anything. When they try, developers and users scream to high heaven that Apple is imposing unfair restrictions on them.

In any case, enjoy your Garmin.

Very disappointing, and the app takes you through the setup regardless, then tells you everything is ready to go. Time to find another app I think.
