Moving MP3 files from Apple Music to a new Portable Player

So my friend has all her music on a very old iPhone 6/7(?) device. The battery is totally dead, needs to be plugged in constantly. So I was able to move all her music off to a 2014 (vintage) MBA. (BigSur OS). So I'd like to get her a "new" MP3 player on which to store her music that she can then take with her. I'm looking for an MP4/AAC player that I can plug into my MBA and transfer her music to (most is non-purchased music, they are older ripped CD's or even cassette tapes (did I date myself?) ). I can get 7th Gen iPod Touch from Amazon, but they are "refurbs" and the battery may not have much life left. I'd like to get a "newer" type device on which to store her music. She only has ~ 12GB on the MBA. Needs to have BT to stream from the MP3 player to an external BT speaker (she doesn't use headphones). Any recommendations? And no, I'm not looking to spend $$$ on a referb iPhone replacement, they are too expensive. Thank You for Your Time and Expertise.

Stephen,

Not really our place to recommend a non-Apple player, but if you do a search on "MP3 player with bluetooth" you will find many nice options. Find a model that has appropriate storage size, and any features she needs (e.g. waterproof if she will take it swimming).

Make sure to keep her library on the MBA (or other computer). Do not rely on the portable player as the sole storage of the library.
