Can't delete the apps from iPhone post iOS 18 update

I can't remove the application, recently I updated my iPhone to iOS 18 and after that I can't delete the apps. Not from the app library, not from the main home and not from the settings too, and from the iPhone storage can't be deleted either, there is no delete button in the settings. There are no delete buttons anywhere. What to do?

I checked these settings. They are set to allow.

I am also facing same problem, its not about setting, settings are right, there is not delete option at all, i guess only option is to wait for next update

The only users who have not been able to delete apps are those with:

  • Managed devices where they are not allowed to delete any apps
  • Screen Time Restrictions
  • Using an alternate app for restrictions such as Cape
  • or attempting to delete an Apple app where it is not allowed

I would suggest taking an additional step of shutting off Share Across Devices at Settings > Screen Time > Share Across Devices and turning off Content & Privacy Restrictions completely at Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. Follow that up with a restart and compare results.

If you still have trouble, let us know what app you are attempting to delete and post the screen shot of what options you see when you attempt to delete the app.

Sorry, I tend to give more information than is strictly necessary, so I was trying for brevity. The phone number and my personal device were absorbed by my company when I was promoted and they agreed to pay for my phone service. At that time, I only had one device and had both work and personal apps loaded on my (then) personal phone. Later, when work replaced that phone, I deleted all my non-work-related apps and I purchased a personal phone and a new number. All the personal (mostly game) apps (some which have been discontinued by the developer) have started showing back up since iOS18 were from before they "owned" the number and supplied my phone.

Yes, due to the nature of my business, my work has locked down all phones so we can't add new apps without seeking approval. However, they've never said we weren't allowed to delete apps. The only option I get when I press and hold the app is: "Add to Home Screen," "Share App," and "Require Face ID."

Yep, the device is being managed. They may not have told you that deleting is not possible, but if they also restrict adding apps, then it would make sense the deleting is also restricted.
