The keyboard on my new MacBook Pro is different from my old iMac. The Grave key isn't the one next to the key [!1]. I need to find it to do a slip edit a clip independently without slipping its connected clip in Final Cut Pro.

It may be at the bottom left corner of your keyboard but you are not giving us any information… a picture of the keyboard maybe? Or open the keyboard viewer on your screen and post a screenshot.

The problem solved. It was my fault. I was holding down the Grave key but wasn't holding down the touchpad - I'm more used to a mouse than a touchpad. Thank you for your help.

What are the model details?
The model of my computer? My newest one, which I am currently using, is MacBook Pro 16 inch.

It will be easier to identify the original idea if you write down the model year in detail. You can see the details of the model from the apple mark.
Go to System Settings, to Keyboard, to Keyboard Shortcuts, then click the "Restore Defaults" button.
I've seen this fix that issue on many, many Macs around the world over many years.
