When opening a .txt format table with Mac Numbers and then saving it, can the default saving destination be set to the same folder location as the original .txt file? Microsoft Excel sets the default saving location to the original file's folder by default.

I think the answer is "no" unless you were to write a script.
However, unless you are repeating this action every few minutes or so, perhaps navigating to your preferred location will not be too much of a burden.
