iPhone 16 Pro Max Side Button Problem

With my iPhone 16 Pro Max I have the problem that the side/power button does not always lock the screen as expected after a short press. The problem mainly occurs when I put the iPhone in my trouser pocket and press the button at the same time. I have now noticed several times that the iPhone is then left unlocked in my pocket.

If I lock it very carefully, it usually works.

Has anyone else noticed this effect?

I’m having the opposite problem. The lock button is too sensitive. My hand barely brushes it while I’m using my phone and it closes in the middle of whatever I’m doing. I was hoping there was a setting to make it less sensitive or change the use.

I’m having the same issue. Locking my phone at the same time as putting it in my pants pocket is like second nature to me, because I’ve been using iPhones since the 3G. The number of times I’ve pulled an unlocked phone out of my pocket in the past week is concerning. This has never been an issue before upgrading to the 16 Pro Max.
