Siri not responding on iPhone 16 Pro Max

I’ve been experiencing ongoing issues with “Hey Siri” as well. At times, it activates but then immediately switches off, which is frustrating. Voice commands are hit or miss, and while voice messaging works fine, the inconsistency is still quite annoying. Has anyone found a reliable fix for this, or is there something specific I should try to improve its responsiveness?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I am having the same issue and also did this step on Settings and enabled Siri (since Hey Siri was enabled and not working) and there was NOT any sort of popup to enable. It still isnt working. I miss my iPhone 13 as this new one doesn't work as well and I really need Siri and my microphone on dictation to work.

Very frustrating when I’m driving and I ask Siri for directions and I get no response. I have tried everything suggested and the only temp fix is restarting the phone. Why is Siri broken? I shouldn’t have to dig through settings to use something that has always work right out the door. PLEASE FIX THIS!

SAME here! Brand new iPhone 16 Pro Max, Siri does not respond. I've tried all the suggested steps and rebooting is the only thing that helps. But it's only temporary, Siri goes right back to ignoring me.

I have the same issue. When I restart it will work for a short time, then after a bit no longer work. iOS 18.1 and iPhone 16. I have an iPhone 13 Pro as well and Siri works just fine, Siri only doesn’t work on iPhone 16.

Same here. I am on IPhone 16. I was excited about Apple intelligence and Siri, but Siri doesn’t respond to requests. It says hmmm when I say hey siri, but doesn’t do any thing request like set a timer, or call John. It is really frustrating in car, as I don’t want to hold phone or press side button. Even with Apple CarPlay Siri is not responding to simple request like play song, call mum etc. it’s new phone and it’s expensive and Apple intelligence is meant to be thing, but this version of Siri seems much worse than generation 1 Siri!!!

You’re completely right bro there should be no complications like this with the phone. It cost this much. Why would it not perform to the best power abilities? I don’t understand either but I’m going through the same complications with Siri on the iPhone 16 Pro Max because I have a 12 Pro response with Siri just fine like it’s been bothering me here lately too because it’s bs. That phone was $1700.

My siri is NOT RESPONDING and also my CLEAN UP IS NOT working as well! Everytime i go to clean up it says Downloading though i have good WiFI it doesn’t download at all!!!!!! I was late to mass earlier today too because my alarm didn’t go on!!!! What’s wrong?!!!!!! We spend thousands just to have this phone and there’s soooooo much problem!!!!!!!!!!NOT WORTH IT AT ALLL!!!😡😡😡😡

Same here, my supposed upgrade from an iPhone 12 to a 16 pro is starting to feel like a downgrade. Not only does Siri respond intermittently, it feels like it's been dumbed down. It doesn't understand simple commands like "Call mum on Whatsapp". Pretty disappointing for a 1100 EURO flagship phone. This is further exacerbated by Apple intelligence being unavailable in the EU due to a spat between the EU and the company. Please patch the bug!

Hey Siri, I mean Apple. You finally fixed Siri well this time. It does not work at all. I tried all of the suggestions here as well. My Siri will not answer me about 80% of the time. When it does, it brings back nonsense. How can consumers log a complaint with Apple about this issue?

My voice text cuts itself off all the time. The only way that I can get it to come back on is by resetting my phone and it’s only a temporary fix. I have a 16 pro and this has been happening for weeks and I only got the phone in November. I’ve had it for two months. This is driving me insane as I only do talk to text. I do not ever type anything. Apple needs to fix this one. This is making me want to go get a new phone but at this point, I don’t trust the 16 pro and I just wanna trade up for a 16 Pro Max and I don’t know if they’ll let me do that or not but I know one thing I’ve had an iPhone ever since the 3G S and I’ve never had problems right out of the gate like this quickly!!

Strangely enough, I checked this when I was having problems and all the settings seem to be right, but just now when I checked again, the toggle was off. Thank you. Maybe I just missed something the last time

Yes, it was super frustrating. I got mine to eventually work as well. There’s quite a few things happening with the Apple 16 that is starting to frustrate me. That was just the first one. Now I’m dealing with talk to text not working correctly on any social media apps, amongst other things. I guess we’ll see if they can figure it out.

Siri doesn’t talk on my new iphone 16 pro max. It only flashes. So I have to be looking at the phone to get any answers from siri for my questions!

It's so bad I'm embarressed for Apple. The majority of the time Siri just outright ignores me, especially if I'm asking where it is to locate the phone, or if the phone is in my pocket. Just absolutely refuses to respond. When I do manage to ask it a question, something basic, half the time it lags saying it can't connect to the internet or it outright gets the answer wrong after saying it's going to use ChatGPT. I have no idea how a company as big as Apple can make something progressively worse to the point of it being this bad, release it to the public and people still stay in a job? Fire the morons doing this and get people in who can? £1500 for a phone that doesn't have basic voice functionality anymore. Garbage.
