Can't get into pages document

I have a Mac and a MacBook, that is less frequently used now. whenever I made a pages document I would password lock it and set up Touch ID.

I have recently tried to access an old document, from the MacBook, on the Mac, only to find out I can't use Touch ID.

I assumed this would be synchronised and was wondering if there is an easy way to sync this?

See my test of keychain syncing in Does this new passwords app also hold the… - Apple Community. Even when configured to sync passwords and keychain between the same user id and different Macs, it is not working.

Yes interesting, thanks for the response. It was only a handful of documents, so easy enough to work around, but it's good to know this now.
