I upgraded my iPhone 12 Pro to a 16 Pro, and the new phone will not connect to my 2018 Mazda CX-5 with CarPlay. When I plug it in, it charges but makes no sign of connecting.

Delete both phones from car memory and re-install new phone.

Buy a USB A to USB C Cable and your CarPlay will work. Worked with my 2020 Toyota Camry.
I am having the same issue my old phone will connect but my new iPhone 16 won’t connect to my car. It will
charge but I can’t see maps or reply to text messages.

iPhone 16 is already usb c why do you need the adaptor? Could you explain?
I also had trouble connecting new iPhone 16 pro to CarPlay, in a 2022 Lexus ESh. Deleting existing phones and adding new 16 pro resolved the problem. It now connects seamlessly!😊
Is it really working Apple CarPlay with the adapter???

I have tried everything, even a wireless adapter in my Opel Astra, but nothing works. Apple really fails by only providing cordless Carplay.
