Issue with focus filters/automations in Calendar post iPhones' iOS 18 update

Hi,

I used to have the following setup before I upgraded to iOS 18:

  • A work focus mode that would set my work calendars to display, and would not display my work calendars when this mode is not active.
  • For this to work either in app or in the widget, I don't have to manually select the calendars in calendar app while in Work focus mode or without any focus mode.

But right after I upgraded to iOS 18, this functionality seems broken, every time I activate my work focus mode, I have to manually select the calendars to display both in app and on widget. It seems like the focus filters that would do this previously, have broken now. And strangely, I have an automation set to activate work focus mode when I go to my office and even that is not working properly. Anyone facing similar issue with focus filters / automations in iOS 18 or have faced already previously? What can I do to fix it?

I have this problem as well, and much more. Since updating to iOS 18.0, focus modes have been very buggy. Hopefully, it'll get fixed in 18.1.

I am having a similar issue on 18.0.1. I’m having certain notifications blocked when I’m in any of the focus modes. I went into the focus settings to choose to allow notifications for/silence notifications for— and it’s missing over half my apps. I tried deleting and making a new focus, restarting my phone, and I tried the opposite option (allowing notifications vs silencing notifications) & either way I’m missing notifications on all my focus modes.
