Apple Music issues after iOS 18 Update

Has anyone experienced issues with Apple Music in iOS 18? For example, audio quality lowered despite Dolby Atmos and EQ off? Or trying to scroll through your playlist and the app crashes?

Me. So thankful to find someone else with this issue. My Apple Music has been almost unusable since the upgrade to iOS 18. Crashes when scrolling a playlist, crashes when trying to remove songs from a playlist. Won’t let me edit larger playlist. Also freezes a lot, is super slow, and the audio quality has decreased. I have been on basically a 4 day phone call with a Apple Senior Adviser about this and they can’t figure it out, plus they say nobody else besides me has reported to them issues with Apple Music on iOS 18. Which is hard for me to believe. The tech is calling me back tomorrow with what his bosses said about the screen recordings i sent them showing my issues. I’ve done every troubleshooting step they can think of except reinstalling iOS 18. I hope they can figure it out cause it’s annoying me to no end not being able to use my music.

I have been having the same issues. Especially when listening with AirPods Pro’s 2nd(USBC). My music plays, the quality is good but then as you get to the best part of the song it will either skip the song or it will pause and when I manually open music I see it paused because the app crashed. I at first thought it was maybe the force sensor on the AirPods that was faulty but then I gave it some thought. If it was the force sensor shouldn’t the same or similar issue occur when watching YouTube, Netflix… or even while listening to podcast? Right? It’s definitely not the force sensor that’s faulty

It's a level of software degradation that I didn't know was possible in a music-streaming product. Editing and Sorting playlists is broken and often will not sync across devices; adding songs to playlists or favoriting an album or song can take up to 10 seconds. My phone also heats up specifically when using the app and no other apps. Not sure what is going on under the hood here, but I'm on a 16 Pro, and it's the worst-performing app I've ever had on an iPhone from Apple. I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed that it has neither been fixed nor acknowledged.

Another thing...and this is also aggravating to no end. the dynamic album art feature defaults to an incorrect album cover. Case in point Van Halen II and Women and Children First shows dynamic album art from Van Halen The collection. And I haven't seen where you can defeat dynamic album art anywhere. UGH! Apple got it all wrong for Music on this latest iOS update I am afraid. FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!

Had another call today with the senior advisor who said the higher ups said the timestamps on my diagnostics log and my screen recordings didn’t match but that they do see a error in the diagnostics log that I’m getting so we had to do the diagnostics and screen recordings all over again, so got yet ANOTHER call for Friday. I asked him if they can see a issue in the log why does it matter what the timestamps say, and he said that they need to know what my phone is doing at the exact same time the actions are performed in the screen recordings. I’m close to having no hope with this. I’ve literally been on this call back repeats with the senior advisor since a day or so after iOS 18 released. But I guess we will see, will update you all again Friday.

I’m using the ios 18.0.1, I didn’t directly update to ios 18 , I’d waited so yeah. But then this update has made my Apple Music laggy asf, keyboard is slow when I type fast. It’s frustrating. I recently got an AirPods Pro 2 and I’ve been regretting updating to ios 18.0.1. It’s so bad that the sound on the AirPods isn’t consistent Everytime I put it it on. Sometimes it’s too loud at like 60% but it’s fine but the audio quality is kinda messed up. But the app is still so laggy and it’s frustrating me. My phone is like 9 months old and this is started happening too soon.

I'll give them until iOS 18.1 which I assume will be out by the end of October. If that doesn't fix everything, I'm off to Amazon. I know Apple won't miss my $124/year but I have invested more than just money into Apple Music and have been very happy with it til now. If it becomes just another semi-functional app and money pit, well, there are lots of other options.

Well after two weeks of syncing normally, practically all my songs were eaten again.

this is getting absolutely ridiculous. The primary reason I got an iPhone instead of android was because of my music library being tied to then-iTunes/now Music. Why am I continuing to do this if the core basic feature for my choice has a failure rate akin to throwing a couple of loaded dice?

I'm convinced that iOS18 was actually made by Samsung or Spotify, etc...

How else could an OS be released that so successfully turns so much of the ecosystem into a shiny titanium dog-egg?

Since iOS18 my Apple Music in particular locks and crashes at least three times every single day, with the frequency even higher if I'm using bluetooth speakers or my Homepods.

For the money that Apple charge for their phones, frankly this just ain't good enough.
